Shared Housing Pilot

Frederick County is experiencing both an affordable housing crisis especially for lower income residents, and an increase in loneliness for both seniors and younger adults. Both problems are projected to increase further due to projected growth in the County over the next ten 10 years.

This committee is exploring how a Home Sharing program in Frederick County be a viable option in addressing the affordable housing crisis and the
increasing problem of loneliness for a target audience of seniors and young adults.

Home Sharing Committee is working together to launch a pilot program to match hosts with interested renters and providing support for both hosts and renters.
